Our Team
The Immigration team is led by the Principal solicitor Mr. Carupiah Selvarajah who has 37 years of experience since admission as a solicitor alongside support from a Trainee Solicitor with over a year’s experience and a paralegal with less than a years’ experience.

The firm has over 37 years of experience in Immigration and Nationality Law. In recent years, the current government policy towards immigrants and the changing visa regulations have made obtaining a visa for a foreigner almost a nightmare.

NOTE: We are not VAT registered therefore the fees quoted below do not attract VAT and represent the fees after taxes. Additionally, the fees do not cover disbursements. Please see further below for information regarding disbursements fees.

The services included are:
- discussing your circumstances in detail and confirming whether this is the most appropriate application for you to make and what other options may be available to you;
- giving you advice about the requirements of the Immigration Rules and whether you meet the criteria.
- if you do not fulfil certain criteria, whether this can be overcome and how,
- considering the supporting evidence you have provided, which we anticipate
- where necessary, helping you obtain further evidence (such as medical records and bank statements), including taking statements of any witnesses;
- preparing your application and submitting it on your behalf,
- Attendance at a Home Office interview: if the Home Office ask you to attend an interview, we will give you clear advice (and discuss the possibility of us attending with you) at the appropriate time.
- giving you advice about the outcome of the application and any further steps you need to take.
The amount of hours depends on the number of documents, whether they need to be translated, whether anything is missing and how long it will take to obtain the missing documents.
Disbursements
Disbursements are costs (i.e., expense), related to your matter that are payable to third parties. All above quoted fees do not include disbursements.
Disbursement fees range in price depending on the type. Find below a list of potential disbursements that may be payable in addition to the above quoted fees:
- Home Office fees – prices range depending entirely on the type of the application, prices available on Gov.UK website
- Barristers’ fees – range between £1,000-£3,000 (VAT charged at 20%) per day, depending on the advocate’s experience and seniority
- Expert fees – prices range depending entirely on the type of Expert required
- Immigration Health Surcharge (not applicable for Indefinite Leave to Remain and Naturalisation applications) – depending on the type of application, prices range between £776.00-£1,035.00 (including VAT)
- Please note we typically do not require the need for external interpreters, so we do not usually charge for interpretation.
How long will it take
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the Home Office and the courts have been taking significantly longer to process immigration matters compared to pre-pandemic times. We cannot guarantee how long the Home Office or immigration authorities will take to process your application. We aim to submit your application within 8 weeks of instructing us.
We will submit your application as soon as we have all the necessary documents and notify you if there are delays.
